Project 2:
Sierra Leone – Fighting malaria

In Sierra Leone in West Africa, malaria poses one of the biggest health dangers. In particular children under the age of five fall ill on average three times a year. Plan International is organising different awareness-raising events (that can take place at half-time of football matches, for example) in order to reduce the amount of deaths caused by malaria. To prevent infections, Plan International will be distributing mosquito nets, together with community members will remove the mosquito breeding grounds and will medically treat the sick. Political and public campaigns will support the activities.
